On April 10, 2025, a consultation “Exploratory Consultation and Strategic Discussions on Expanding Vaccination Coverage in Myanmar” was held to address the growing vaccination crisis among Myanmar children, especially those affected by conflict, displacement, and disaster. Hosted by CMB Foundation, National Health Foundation, Resilience Health, CPI, and Suwannimit Foundation, the session brought together experts and stakeholders both in-person and online.
The meeting focused on the triple impact of conflict, the recent earthquake, and the withdrawal of key donor support. Participants aimed to assess urgent vaccination needs, identify operational barriers, and begin shaping a coordinated response strategy.
Key Agenda Highlights:
- A situational overview covering access challenges, cold chain breakdowns, and gaps in funding and surveillance.
- A collaborative session identifying delivery, logistics, and financial challenges across conflict zones and border communities.
- Strategy brainstorming focused on cross-border collaboration, resource optimization, and adaptive vaccination methods.
- Clear next steps including priority setting, organizational commitments, and planning for ongoing coordination.
This meeting marks another critical step toward a united regional approach to immunization for at-risk children. Further engagement and rapid action are expected in the coming months.
